Biography: Néjib Belhabib
Néjib Belhabib is a recognized expert in the fields of higher education, technological innovation, and economic development in Africa and the Mediterranean. Born in 1953, he has dedicated his career to promoting inclusive education and building bridges between the public and private sectors to address global challenges in sustainable development and digital transformation.
Academic and Professional Background
Néjib Belhabib holds degrees in engineering and management sciences, having studied in France. He is also a founding member of the Euro-Mediterranean Federation of Education and Research (FEMER), where he played a key role in promoting cooperation between European, African, and Mediterranean universities.
As Chairman and CEO of the SUPTECH Group, a higher education and vocational training network based in Tunisia and present in several African and European countries, Néjib Belhabib oversaw the creation of SUPTECH International and its numerous branches, including SUPTECH Congo, SUPTECH Europe, and institutions such as IDHP Paris and the Rusta network in sub-Saharan Africa. His leadership has positioned SUPTECH as a benchmark in education, innovation, and skills transfer.
Achievements and Projects
Development of international clusters and partnerships: Néjib Belhabib has initiated and managed several international projects, including a health and medical technology cluster and a biodiversity cluster at digital innovation hubs in Africa, in collaboration with international institutions and private stakeholders.
Environmental Initiatives: As a consultant, he has contributed to projects related to industrial decarbonization and the implementation of sustainable development models in North Africa and sub-Saharan Africa. Promoting African Cooperation: Founder of platforms such as org and AfricaBridge.tn, he works to facilitate the export of Tunisian digital services to the two Congos and to strengthen economic ties between African countries.
Combating Unemployment among Young Graduates: His research and projects in higher education place particular emphasis on youth employability, the digital transformation of education, and the creation of economic opportunities for graduates.
