Charter For our Members and Partners

The Global Development Alliance for Asia & Africa (GDAAA) is an international organization dedicated to promoting sustainable development in Asia and Africa, supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
We firmly believe in the importance of education, health, clean energy, decent work, and climate action to build resilient and equitable societies.
This charter aims to guide the actions of our members and partners in their initiatives, aligning their efforts with the SDGs specified below.
It also establishes principles of cooperation, governance, and results monitoring to ensure maximum impact.
This charter is an essential framework to guide the engagement of GDAAA members and partners.
It defines concrete actions aligned with the SDGs and a cooperation model based on the principles of equity, sustainability, and respect for human rights. By following this charter, we collectively commit to addressing development challenges in Asia and Africa, working toward a more inclusive, resilient, and prosperous future.
We invite our members and partners to join us in this mission, which is essential for the future of our planet and its inhabitants.

1. Commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

As members and partners of the GDAAA, we commit to actively supporting the achievement of the following SDGs:
• SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being:
Improve access to quality healthcare and promote healthy lifestyles, including by supporting local public health initiatives, disease prevention, and improving health infrastructure.

• SDG 4 – Quality Education:
Ensure access to inclusive, equitable, and quality education through appropriate curricula, vocational training, and initiatives that meet the needs of youth and adults in Asia and Africa.

• SDG 7 – Affordable and Clean Energy:
Promote access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all, with a particular focus on renewable energy solutions and energy-efficient technologies.

• SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth:

Stimulate inclusive economic growth, create decent jobs, and support local entrepreneurship, by integrating the principles of corporate social responsibility and sustainable development into all our projects.

• SDG 13 – Combating Climate Change:
Contribute to climate change mitigation, promote sustainable agricultural practices and nature-based solutions, and support communities in their efforts to adapt to the impacts of climate change.

2. Principles of Cooperation for Members and Partners

1. Inclusivity:
We promote an inclusive approach where each member and partner has the opportunity to contribute to achieving the SDGs, taking into account local needs and regional specificities.
2. Collaboration:
Active collaboration between members, partners, governments, and communities is essential to successfully achieve our shared goals.
3. Innovation:
We encourage innovation in our projects to find practical, effective, and sustainable solutions to development challenges.
4. Accountability:
Each member and partner is committed to acting in an ethical, responsible, and transparent manner. Adherence to the principles of sustainability and social responsibility is imperative for all our initiatives.

We emphasize efficient project implementation, ensuring that resources are optimally used to achieve objectives in a measurable manner.

3. Governance and Monitoring Mechanisms

A Governance Committee will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of this charter and evaluating the progress of each project against the defined SDGs. This committee will be composed of opinion leaders, sector experts, and member representatives.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
• Performance Indicators: Each project will be monitored using measurable indicators aligned with the SDGs to measure impact and effectiveness.
• Annual Reports: An annual report will be published to share progress, challenges encountered, and lessons learned. The reports will be available to all members and partners.

4. Member and Partner Commitment

GDAAA members and partners commit to:
• Actively contributing to the achievement of the SDGs by collaborating on joint projects.
• Respecting the values ​​and principles set out in this charter and applying them in all local and regional initiatives. • Participate in awareness-raising, information and mobilization activities to strengthen the impact of the actions carried out.
